Samsung Galaxy Note 7 available for pre-bookings from Aug 22

South Korean Electronics giant, Samsung,  on Thursday announced the launch of its new flagship Galaxy Note 7 in India. The newly unveiled Note 7 Smartphone is priced at 59,900 INR. The company has partnered with Reliance Jio for offering three months of 4G connectivity to the potential customers.

The all new Galaxy Note 7 will be available for pre-bookings starting August 22 till the end of this month.

One of the main highlights of the Galaxy Note 7 is that it will be manufactured in India, thus, further strengthening the Government of India’s Make in India programme.

On the occasion of the launch, Samsung India Vice President Mobile Business Manu Sharma, said,

“We believe Note series will help us consolidate our share in the premium segment. We have pioneered a new category when the first Galaxy Note was launched in 2011. The Note 7 packs in some new features like iris scanner and improved S Pen, which will delight new customers as well as Note loyalists”.

H/W and S/W Specifications of Galaxy Note 7 at a Glance:

The Galaxy Note 7 sports a large 5.7-inch display backed by an equally large 3,500mAh battery. The said Smartphone will ship with 64GB of internal storage. Camera wise, the Galaxy Note 7 features a 12MP rear camera complemented by a 5MP selfie camera.

Off late, Samsung has been suffering a continuous drop in its market share in India due to the astonishing emergence of several chinese companies such as LeEco, Xiaomi to name a few. However, high end Galaxy series Smartphones is the one sector where the company still holds a significant market share. As a result, the company officials seem to be very optimistic regarding the performance of the Note 7 in India.

“We expect the next quarter to be a good one for sales as the monsoon has been good this year, there is this aspect of Pay Commission as well, so its overall a positive note,” Mr. Sharma added.

Further, the South Korean giant also announced a host of wearables — Gear Fit 2 (smartwatch) priced at Rs. 13,990, IconX (wireless earphones) (Rs 13,490) and Gear VR (VR glasses).

The Note 7, already launched in America last week, will come bundled with Gear VR headset priced at Rs 1,990.
