Micromax Infinity N12, N11 launched in India with notched display

After a long sabbatical, Micromax, the Indian smartphone company that brought phones such as the Canvas 2

The sub-brand YU, to the Indian market is back, this time with notch displays. Micromax has launched their first phone with a notch in the sub ₹10,000 price bracket.

The Infinity N series will come in two variants- N12 and N11. The N12 and N11 have similar MediaTek Helio P22 processors, which they have said will perform well along with their software optimizations. They have also stated that the phone will perform well in AI-based interactions because of the Helio P22 chipset.

Apart from that, both the phones have identical 6.19 inches HD+ displays which both sport a notched display. The N12 has a 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage and the N11 has a 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. Both the phones have the option for expanding storage upto 128GB along with keeping the dual SIM card slots.

In the camera department, the phones have identical dual camera setups at the back with a primary 13-megapixel sensor and a secondary 5-megapixel depth sensing, wide-angle sensor. The front cameras of the two phones differ from one another. The N12 has a superior 16-megapixel camera up front with a flash and the N11 has an 8-megapixel camera. The phones have the same image processing technology and additional camera features.

The phones come with a 4,000mAH battery on board and they run on Android 8.1 Oreo as of now. The company has confirmed that the phones will soon receive an Android 9.0 Pie update, which should make it a good selling point.

The phones are quite aggressively priced and should face a lot of competition from Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi. The Micromax N12 will be available for purchase at ₹9,999 and the N11 will be priced at ₹8,999. Both the phones will be available only offline, unlike what we have seen from other players in the market. We are eager to see how the phone will compete against the rivals and what kind of a response it will receive from fans.
