‘LinkedIn Salary’ feature now in India

World’s largest professional networking platform LinkedIn, has launched LinkedIn Salary in India.

To help its users see a detailed analysis of salaries across different jobs, positions, and locations, this latest feature is expected to help the professionals get better pay compensations, by creating more transparency around salaries.

Talking about the product, Ajay Datta, Head of Product-India, LinkedIn, said, “In India’s competitive jobs market, LinkedIn Salary will help create salary transparency and empower our members with reliable data. This will help professionals, including students and career starters, negotiate better salaries and optimize their earning potential. As the tool gathers momentum in India, it will offer more actionable insights to our members.”

The new feature will empower users with insights like the bonus and equity data, for different job titles, along with the effect of other factors like experience, industry, company, location, and education level, on salary compensation.

New Features

Furthermore, the feature is accessible to free users, upon sharing their salary data, while the premium users can access the feature without revealing their salary data. According to LinkedIn, the data is based on a careful analysis of 53 million users on its platform in India, for over two months. According to LinkedIn data, Bengaluru emerged as the highest paying region followed by Mumbai and Delhi NCR region, which includes Gurugram and Noida.

Among industries, hardware and software industry, emerged as the highest paying industry, followed by software and IT services, and consumer goods.

The insights also revealed that the highest paying positions in the country include director of engineering, the chief operating officer (COO), executive director, vice president sales and senior program manager.

Earlier this year in November, LinkedIn released a list of top 25 most sought after startups in India. Previously in July, it was reported that the number of Indian users on LinkedIn crossed the 5 crore mark.
