Internet on balloons- The Project Loon

The Project Loon – the project loon

Surely, we all are aware about the 20th centuries ever – growing development in the advancement of science and technology; but this is surely going to blow everyone’s minds’ out. PROJECT LOON launched by GOOGLE with its pilot test firstly successful in June 2013. And here’s this thought everyone probably might be wondering, ‘What is this PROJECT LOON?’

PROJECT LOON is a project that is launched to provide internet at anyplace, by beaming the network through BALLOONS. And here comes another amazing shock, ‘Balloons! HOW IS IT POSSIBLE?’

Google has designed PROJECT LOONS balloons in such a way, that these balloons float in the stratosphere layer which is at a height twice as that of the airplanes. By adjusting to the direction of wind and speed at this layer, these balloons can be controlled to ascend and descend as per the required location. With associating with the telecommunication or cellular providers to share the cellular spectrum, connection can be easily established via phones and other LTE – enabled devices, directly to the balloon network. Google claims that these balloons will provide connectivity using 4G or LTE technology.

The Project has shown great success when firstly initiated in New Zealand, where thirty balloons were launched so as to provide necessary network access to the pilots nearby. After this success, secondly was launched in Brazil, and finally now it has been approved by INDIA.

It is surely going to prove to be a boon to the development of our country, since the shortcomings of providing internet to the rural places, setting up an infrastructure for the same, all can be surely eliminated. Besides, this project can surely take up telecommunication to a whole another level.
