Acer Nitro 5 with 8th-gen Intel processor announced in India

A new addition to the gaming laptops by Acer

In a bid to keep up with the ever-changing technologies and demands of the gaming community for the latest hardware, Acer has refreshed its Nitro 5 gaming laptop. Announced in India on Thursday, the new Acer Nitro 5 comes with six core 8th Gen Intel Core processors in configurations ranging from Core i5, i7, i5+, i7+ to AMD’s Ryzen 5 processor. The latter, however, comes with a Radeon RX560 graphics card.

Acer has also touched up the lid cover of the Nitro 5 which now features a revamped design courtesy of laser texturing. The matter, crimson red hinge accentuates the design of the gaming laptop.


The new Acer Nitro 5 has a 15.6-inch full HD IPS display that is responsible to reproduce really crisp gaming visuals. It comes in a couple of variants for buyers to choose from. The 8th Gen Intel Core processors are backed by NVIDIA GTX 1050 or 1050Ti graphics card. Additionally, the Intel processors utilize the Optane memory which allows for faster read and write speeds. On the other hand, the variant with AMD Ryzen 5 processor comes with Radeon RX560 graphics.

Acer also provides users with the NitroSense control system which provides real-time metrics and insights. The new Nitro 5 is also outfitted with Dolby Audio and the company’s own TrueHarmony audio enhancing system which provide an overall balanced sound.

On the announcement, Chandrahas Panigrahi, CMO & Consumer Business Head of Acer India said, “The new Nitro 5 has been developed keeping the fact in mind that, gamers want powerful specs to enable great experiences on the go at an affordable price point and this product is designed to tackle these needs specifically. The advanced features and the latest hardware with a refreshed striking exterior add to its uniqueness and provides the feeling of intensity to a gamer.”

Price and availability

Prices for the new Acer Nitro 5 start at Rs 65,999 for AMD variants and Rs 72,999 for 8th Gen Intel variants. The gaming laptop is available at ACER exclusive stores, and major retailers both online and offline.
