Struggling for rights, struggling for education, rising against the odds and that too from a very young age. Well that is Malala Yousafzai who stood and advocated for education, women rights from Swat Vallet in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of northwest Pakistan. The area where Taliban barred girls from attending schools and so made them live terrible and miserable lives.
Can you just imagine at a tender age of 15, you’re about to board your school bus and summoned by a masked stranger, calls you by your name and with a confused and pure mind you walk upto him, and he does what ? Points a gun at you and open fires ! Terrifying even to imagine for anyone but Yousafzai faced it, tackled it and without diminishing in fear for life, stood up for her right again !
It is too less to write about her bravery and courageous plight and that surely makes her distinguished from the masses and a Nobel prize recipient ! Sharing with you a video from her Nobel Prize awarding ceremony… I recommend at-least listen her entire speech… So simple and humble, see for yourself :
Yousafzai shared this honor with Kailash Satyarthi who also is an Indian children’s rights advocate and an activist against child labor. Its a lesson to learn from these people, work not for fame or money but for society. This is what they did and always do it to make earth a better place to live and not merely to survive !
